Day 2: Designing a Sourcing Strategy
- Category strategy development
- Define category scope, demand profile and total cost of ownership
- Select appropriate sourcing levers (consolidation, specification, demand management)
- Prioritize categories using value-at-stake and complexity analysis
- Stakeholder engagement and change management
- Build stakeholder maps and engagement plans
- Techniques for negotiating internal buy-in and managing resistance
- Communication plans to sustain adoption and measure adoption rates
Day 3: Supplier Segmentation and Market Approaches
- Supplier segmentation and relationship models
- Classify suppliers by criticality, spend and market power
- Define relationship models: transactional, preferred, strategic partnerships
- Governance approaches for each segment (SLAs, performance reviews, joint plans)
- Sourcing methodologies and tender design
- Choose sourcing routes (RFI, RFP, e-auction, negotiated sale) by category
- Draft evaluation criteria that balance cost, risk, innovation and sustainability
- Design procurement timelines and resource plans for execution
Day 4: Risk, Compliance and Contract Strategy
- Procurement risk management and sustainability
- Identify and quantify supply, geopolitical and operational risks

- Develop mitigation plans including dual sourcing and contingency inventory
- Contracting and commercial strategy
